Gamification agency — Sydney, AU & NZ
Gamification & Branded Games Agency
Gamify is a gamification marketing agency that turns passive audiences into active players. We design, build and run branded games on our own engine — for brands across Australia, New Zealand and global markets.
What a gamification agency actually does
A gamification agency applies game mechanics — points, levels, challenges, leaderboards, instant-win moments and rewards — to something that isn’t a game: a product launch, a loyalty program, a retail promotion, a recruitment drive or an email acquisition campaign. If you want the fundamentals first, start with what gamification is.
The difference between a gamification agency and a general creative shop is ownership of the whole chain. A creative agency can concept a game; far fewer can design the core loop so it’s genuinely fun on the third play, build it to run in a mobile browser with no app download, wire it into a CRM, manage prize odds and winner verification, and then report on the cost per acquired, opted-in customer. That end-to-end chain is the job.
In practice a campaign has four moving parts: the mechanic (what the player does), the reward (why they bother), the data (what the brand gets back) and the distribution (how people find it). Get any one of those wrong and the campaign under-delivers even if the game itself looks great.
How Gamify works
We build on a proprietary game engine rather than starting from a blank file for every brief. The engine already handles the parts that normally eat the budget — cross-device rendering, scoring, leaderboards, prize logic, entry throttling, data capture and hosting — so the creative budget goes into the things a player actually notices: the art direction, the feel of the controls and the reward.
- Strategy — we define the audience, the behaviour to drive, the mechanic and the KPI before any art is made.
- Game design — core loop, difficulty curve, session length and the reason to come back tomorrow.
- Build — the game is produced on our engine, branded to your guidelines and tested across mobile and desktop browsers.
- Data & integrations — email/SMS opt-in, CRM and marketing-automation handoff, UTM and event tracking.
- Launch & operations — hosting, prize and winner management, moderation, and live tuning while the campaign runs.
- Reporting — plays, completion rate, repeat play rate, opt-ins, cost per lead and share of audience reached.
Because that pipeline is repeatable, a branded 2D game can be live in about a week. Larger builds — multi-level 3D worlds, embedded video, storyline campaigns — take longer but follow the same spine. See advergame development for the formats we build most often.
Who we work with
Brands. FMCG, QSR, retail, entertainment, telco, health and financial services teams who need a campaign that does more than get scrolled past. Typical briefs: launch a product, drive trial, build an opted-in database, add a reason to visit store, or reactivate a lapsed list.
Partner agencies. Creative, media, shopper and CX agencies who bring us in white-label when a pitch or a live brief calls for a game. We work to your creative direction, keep your client relationship intact, and deliver the build and the campaign infrastructure behind your name.
Rights holders and licensors. Teams with IP — sports, film, entertainment, publishing — who want to activate that IP as a playable experience rather than another content post.
The outcomes we're hired for
- Acquisition — a game gives people a reason to hand over an email address that a form never will. Entry is the price of play.
- First-party data — with cookie deprecation and rising media costs, consented, self-declared data captured in a fun exchange is one of the few durable assets left.
- Dwell time and attention — average session times on a branded game are measured in minutes, not the seconds a banner or a social post gets.
- Retention and repeat visits — leaderboards, daily entries and streaks bring the same player back multiple times across a campaign window.
- Sales and trial — instant-win, code-entry and receipt-based mechanics tie play directly to a purchase.
- ROI clarity — every play, opt-in and share is tracked, so a game reports like performance media rather than like brand fluff.
Why Gamify, not a template tool
Off-the-shelf gamification tools give you a spin-to-win wheel and a scratch card in someone else’s template. They’re cheap and they work — once. The problem is that your audience has already seen that wheel on five other brands this month, so novelty (the whole point) is gone.
- Real games, not widgets — original art, original mechanics, built to your brand rather than skinned over a stock template.
- Our own engine — we control the roadmap, so custom mechanics, integrations and performance fixes don't wait on a vendor.
- Game designers, not just marketers — the studio is staffed by people who ship games, which is why the core loop holds up past the first play.
- Campaign operations included — prize compliance, winner management, hosting and support are part of the job, not a separate scope.
- Measurement built in — you get the numbers that justify the next campaign, not a screenshot of impressions.
- AU/NZ based, globally deployed — Sydney studio, campaigns running in local and international markets.

Gamification agency FAQs
What is a gamification agency?
A gamification agency designs and builds game-based experiences for brands — branded games, instant-win mechanics, quizzes, challenges and loyalty mechanics — and runs them as marketing campaigns. Unlike a general creative agency, a gamification agency owns the game design, the build, the prize and data logic, and the measurement of what the campaign actually returned.
How much does a branded game cost?
Most branded games sit between a fast single-mechanic build and a full multi-level 3D campaign. Because Gamify builds on its own engine rather than starting from scratch, a branded 2D game can launch in about a week, while larger 3D worlds with storylines, integrations and campaign management cost more. Current tiers are listed on our pricing page.
How long does it take to launch a gamification campaign?
A branded game built on our engine typically goes from brief to live in 7–14 days, including branding, testing and prize setup. Larger campaigns with custom 3D environments, CRM integrations and multi-market rollouts usually run four to eight weeks end to end.
Do you work with other agencies?
Yes. A large share of our work is white-label delivery for creative, media and CX agencies who have won a brief that needs a game. We can sit behind your team, work to your creative direction, and hand back a fully branded, hosted and measurable game experience.
