The Why

Versapay Corp. is a Toronto-based B2B accounts-receivable and order-to-cash software company. They sell software that gets invoices paid faster — a genuinely useful product, and a genuinely boring page to land on.

They needed something at the top of the funnel that people would choose to interact with, and that would put names and emails into their CRM while it did it. Direct engagement, no agency.

The Solution

Payment Runner — a retro 80s-neon endless runner. The player uses a "mystic laptop" to clear customers' open invoices at speed, collecting the Versapay logo as they go. Three lives, score submission, live leaderboard.

Built as an HTML5 game, served through Gizmo, and embedded directly into a Versapay-branded landing page at arc.versapay.com/payment-runner — so the game sat inside the marketing page rather than off to one side of it, with the product story and three gated content offers directly beneath.

In Versapay's own campaign copy: "Use your mystic laptop to give customers the power of Versapay, helping them take care of their payments and open invoices in a flash! Submit your high score to win!"

Reward

Weekly cash prizes for the top three high scores — $100, $50 and $25 USD. Entry required submitting a score to the leaderboard, which made the leaderboard the data-capture point rather than a bolt-on form.

Integration

Every name and email entered in-game streamed straight into Versapay's CRM.
