The Why
Fortinet, the global cybersecurity vendor, toured Australia with the FortiExpress — a branded truck fitted out as a mobile cybersecurity demo centre. A truck full of enterprise network security kit draws the people who already care. Fortinet's Australia/New Zealand marketing team needed something that would stop everyone else: pull a crowd to the truck, hold them for a minute, and leave a name and an email behind. Direct, no agency.
The Solution
Fortinet Express — Snake, reskinned so the snake is the FortiExpress truck, growing longer as it collects. Score climbs in fives; the truck speeds up with every pickup, so the game gets harder exactly as the player gets confident. Every 50 points the background changes to a different Australian city — the same route the real truck was driving. The start screen opens on Uluru.
How it ran
On iPads at the truck itself, and on visitors' own phones via a QR code — no app, no download, straight into the game. A live leaderboard refreshing every ten seconds turned the queue at the truck into a competition. Score submission captured name and email; only the name went up on the board, the rest went into the campaign database.
